Northern Goshawk
The Northern Goshawk is big and fast and not likely to pose for a sitting when you paint it. So use these instructions instead.

The Northern goshawk (Accepter gentiles) is the largest accepter in North America, measuring between 21 and 26 inches, with a broad conspicuous white stripe over the eyes that extends to the back of the head. The Northern goshawk, with its swift attack, can be one of the most destructive hawks when it comes to game birds. The bird usually stays in the northern regions of the continent, provided it can find enough prey to feed itself and its young.
For the pattern and painting notes I was able to study a Northern goshawk that had flown into the side of a house while chasing a songbird. I also used study skins provided by Eastern Washington University.
