Identity Crisis

What am I trying to accomplish here? As a professional educator for most of my adult life, I have been trained to identify my objectives as a starting point for any attempt at instruction. In this case, it should be obvious that my primary objective is to share the techniques I have learned over the years so that my readers can successfully paint a falcated duck. Upon further reflection, however, my objectives really go a little beyond that. I would like to help move my readers down the path of understanding what they are doing and why they are doing it as they continue their individual journeys as artists.
