A Cherry Hummingbird

There's a bird in that there wood! And it's a hum-dinger.

By: Fausto DelGrosso

I received a cherry wood log about 18 months ago, and I used a portion of it to carve a merganser chasing fish for the 2011 Ward World Championship. (See “The Transformed Log” in Wildfowl Carving Magazine, Fall 2011). Now, I’m ready to use another chunk from the log. I am not quite sure just what this remnant might end up becoming, but I have no doubt the process will be interesting.
